McDonagh tops the pile


Well done to Dean McDonagh (pictured right) on coming out on top in the Northern Ireland Under 23 International Team Trials. In a very competitive 2 days of Trials, Dean who plays for St Comgalls in the Larne League, scored 29/40 to earn himself a place in the NI Under 23 Squad. Ballyclare's Philip Houston who led after Day 1 came in 2nd and after a play off current Northern Ireland Under 23 Champion Steven Carson from Carrickfergus took 3rd. In total 36 players took part in what was the best turn out ever for the NIPA in that age category. Todays event (Day 2) was held in the 147 Snooker Club, Omagh on 9 Supreme tables.
