Although our lads were well beaten in their opening match by a very strong Scotland side, they excelled in the next, leading England all the way only to lose our by a single frame. In game 3 the lads were rewarded with an exciting win over neighbours Southern Ireland, followed by a 15-18 loss to Wales. Courtesy of finishing 4th, NI qualified for the Semi Finals where they met Group Winners Scotland. But once again Tournament Favourites Scotland, who went on to be crowned Champions, came out on top, this time by a 17-6 scoreline. All in all the lads had a great Tournament, conducted themselves well and put up a good showing against strong opposition. Apart from a couple it was all of our squads first taste of a big Tournament and part of the learning curve for them. It bodes well for the future. Well done to 15 year old Lee Wright and 13 year old Declan Duff who were Runners up in the Under 16s Doubles Final and very well done to Ben McMorran, William Lowes, Lee McIlreavy and Scott Clarke who won the Nations Cup U18s Speed Pool Event for Northern Ireland.
