In a warm up match held in Minnesota's Snooker Club, Ballymena, last night the 1st of September, the Northern Ireland B1 Team edged out a Northern Ireland Seniors Select Team by the narrowest of margins, 18-17. With the teams level at 17-17, the reliable Andy Arbuthnot stepped up to secure the win for Derek Whiteside's lads. Andy won all 5 of his frames on the night. But Dessie Cooper will definitely be encouraged by the performance of his new team as he prepares them for the European Championships in Rhyl, Wales.
