Congratulations to our Mens Specials and Ladies Specials who once again rose to the occasion to come back as European Champions. The Mens 'A' had a nail biting 13-12 win over Wales in the Semi Final followed by a great win over tournament favourites Scotland in the Final. Our Ladies overcame England to win their title.
We also have a Specials Individual European Champion in Frances McCann. Frances retained her title from last year with a great display.
Another one of our teams reached the Final and two the Semi Finals. The Mens B1s were in superb form qualifying comfortably for the Semi Final including a first ever win for an NI 'B' team over Scotland 'B1s' who went on to win the Competition.
The Seniors 'A' team (Over 40s) also excelled in the group stages, but also lost out at the Semi Final stage to winners Scotland by a 13-10 margin.
Our Masters team (over 50s) scraped through the group on frame difference but then went on to knock out tournament favourites Scotland in the Semi Final. They trailed 5-9 but amazingly ran off 8 frames in a row to take their place in the Final. But it wasn't to be as a strong Wales team went on to lift the trophy with a deserved 13-6 win.
Our U23B1 team played superbly all week topping the group winning 6 matches and losing only 1 but unfortunately went down to Scotland in the Semi Finals.
In the Seniors Individuals, Stephen Johnston made the last 8 losing out 4-5 to England's Micky Turner and Hugh Regan also progressed to the Quarter Final stage in the Masters losing to England's Roy Pontefract.
