Johnston retains his Masters (Over 50s) title

Congratulations to Alan Johnston (top right) on retaining the Northern Ireland Masters (Over 50s) Individual title. In the Final the Larne man overcame a solid challenge from Bangor's Chris Geoffroy (bottom) winning the final 3 frames of the match to run out a 6-3 winner. In what was a very encouraging turnout in this relatively new age category Johnston was his usual very consistent self throughout a long day of pool. He picked up the £110 winners cheque and earned automatic selection onto the Masters team for the European and World Championships in 2014. The event was held in the Primacy Sports Bar, Bangor.
