It's the Omagh lads yet again

MAIN EVENT
Congratulations yet again to the lads from the 147 Club in Omagh. They successfully defended the 2014 WILLIE LUCAS MEMORIAL SUPER 7s event which was played out in the Primacy Sports Bar, Bangor on Sunday 25th May.

The man of the moment for the second year in a row was Mark Stockton who held his nerve to clear the table and start the celebrations after a close match against Derek Whiteside's Galacticos from Carrickfergus. Omagh collected a £500 winners prize. On their way to victory Omagh defeated a very strong 147 Pistols team from Antrim which included World No 9 ranked Snooker star Mark Allen.

Damian Corrigan's Omagh have certainly set a challenge down to the rest of NI Pool. Along with defending this title they have also won the NIPA Interleague Event for the last 2 years. A terrific record indeed considering they have only been playing Blackball for a few seasons.

PLATE EVENT
In the Plate event a big well done to Herbie O'Neills Imperial from North Down & Ards who overcame very strong Coleraine and Ballyclare teams on their way to defeating newcomers Joe's Select from Belfasts William Hill League.

Thanks go to Herbie and all his players for donating £50 to the Northern Ireland Learning Difficulties Pool section, a lovely gesture from the team. Thanks also go to Derek Whiteside for saying a few words about Willie Lucas before the start of the event and to all the players for the minutes applause in Willie's memory. Referee on the day was Kathy Leddy.
