FEE MAKES HIS CHARGE at A&E Tour Event 1

THE 147 CLUB, OMAGH, played host to Event 1 of the new NIPA Blackball Amateur and Elite Pool Tour. And what a day we had as 53 players vied for the winners top prize. The new format has really appealed to the players imagination and with matches being "Best of 9" an upset is always on the cards. When the final black in the 389th frame of the day was sunk is was Antrims Rab Fee who took the honours after a nailbiting 5-4 win over Omagh's Damian Corrigan.  Both players were in sparkling form all day but Fee stood out after also seeing off whom many would see as Northern Irelands top two players, Ronan McCarthy and Tommy Morrow, both by 5-0 scorelines. Adding to the occasion and in the draw was Antrim's World Ranked No 8 snooker player Mark Allen who made it to the Quarter Final stage losing out to Belfast's Rab McCullough. There were also impressive performances from Conor McCann, Alaister Wilson, Colin Moore and debutante Marty Goudie. The next A&E Tour (Event 2) heads to The Primacy in Bangor on Sunday 7th December.
