Well the 2014 Blackball World Championships have come and gone and we look forward to the 2016 event, venue TBC. As usual in the world of Pool there were highs and lows and many in betweens but overall the NIPA are very proud of how our teams performed on and off the table. Highlight was our Seniors (Over 40s) Team, who won Silver medals just losing out in becoming World Champions by the narrowest of margins 13-12 to Southern Ireland. Our Under 23s made the Semi Finals losing narrowly 13-11 to England and went on to take the Bronze medals defeating Southern Ireland 13-12 in the 3rd and 4th place play off. Our Mens team finished one place outside qualification as did our Masters (Over 50s). The Ladies team held their own as did our Under 18s and our Specials lost out in a 3rd and 4th place play off match. In the Individuals Omagh's Davy McGurn was so close to forcing his Final into an 11th frame decider against legend Ross McInnes but can be delighted with winning Silver. Paddy Reid won Bronze to add to his mounting collection in the Specials Individual and in the Wheelchair event Rab McMaw made the Semi Finals losing out to eventual winner Phil Hendrickson from Wales.
