Updated information re 2015 UK Open
Information from promoter Ross McInnes re the 2015 UK Open
"" I have had to make a number of changes to the format of the UK Opens being held at the Hilltop/Milton hotel Carlisle over the weekend of 11/13th September.
I believe that because of the change of date to the Nations Cup one week before, interest in these events are down, mainly because the players cannot afford to attend two hotel event one week after the next.
As I have already paid a large sum to book the hotel, I cannot cancel and as such have to change things around, to guarantee the event will be full.
Any player who has paid their deposit for an event can have their money refunded or change from one event to another if they want instead.
There will now be 4 events, all still double elimination down to a certain level, this information will come later.
The 4 events are; 64 person UK Open for any age. 32 Senior event [over 40 as at 11th October 2015] 16 Masters event [over 50 as at 11th October 2015] and a 16 players Ladies event.
All entry fees are £50 with an added prize fund as follows; Open £3600 Seniors £1800 Masters £1000 Ladies £1000. total £7400.
Players have to stay two nights at a cost of £40 B&B pp sharing per night and £65 for a single room.
Again entries are on a first come basis. Any player who has already informed me that they are coming can now change their mind and as I said ALL players can be refunded their entry fee or change to another section if they can. ""
