Aaron secures Under 15 NI title

Congratulations to 13 year old Aaron Rolston on winning the inaugural NIPA Individual Blackball

Under 15 Championship. The event was held in Potters Pool and Snooker Club, Coleraine on Sunday 21st June. After overcoming Ryan Marcus in his Semi Final, Aaron was involved in a titanic struggle with Coleraine's Adam Freeburn in the final pairing. He looked down and out as Freeburn turned on the style to forge a 6-4 lead in the race to seven, but three great run outs from Rolston of which his uncle and 2010 N.Ireland Mens Individual Champion Neil McKelvey would have been proud off for himself, secured the victory and the title for the Larne youngster. Bradley Boreland won the Plate event after losing out 5-6 in a black ball fight in his Semi Final against eventual Runner Up Adam Freeburn.

Following on from the huge success of the new Under 15 category at the recent EBA European Championship, the NIPA will be holding our own inaugural National Championship which will become an annual event in our calendar. We are looking forward to seeing plenty of young cueists battle it out on the green baize for a Northern Ireland title this coming Sunday in Potters Pool & Snooker Club in Coleraine. Details below -

What - 2015 Under 15 NI Individual Championship
When - Sunday 21st June 2015
Time - Registration closes at 11.00 noon sharp. Players must register in person
Club open - From 10.00am for practice
Where - Potters Pool & Snooker Club, Coleraine
Cost - Free to enter, but players must be Junior Members (cost £7.50 per year)
Dress code - Yes
Format - Straight Knock Out
Age criteria - Players must have been under 15 years of age on 1st January 2015, please bring ID.
