147 Antrim make it the hat trick

Congratulations to Rab Fee's 147 Antrim, Pool Team. As the NIPA remembered Willie Lucas with the Super 7s Memorial Event the Antrim lads made it a hat trick of wins with a fantastic display in the St Comgalls Club, Larne on Sunday 12th March. After breezing through the group they edged their Semi 11-8 against a strong Thatch Pool Team from Larne to reach the Final against another Larne side, Dean McDonagh's Saints. A close match was expected but 147 Antrim flew out off the blocks to lead 8-1 before pushing on for a 15-4 success.

And it was a fairytale story in the Plate Final where Highwaymen representing Dromara met the consistent Crumlin lads. Highwaymen needed to win the 28th and final frame to force the match into a single frame play off and it was none other than Dayne Lucas, Willie's son, who held his nerve and potted the final black. Highwaymen went on to win the play off for a 15-14 victory to win the Plate Event in a memorable match.

A big thanks to everyone who took part today and contributed to the special atmosphere that has become part of the Super 7s Tournament. MacSparticos of Carrickfergus League donated their £75 prize money to the Northern Ireland Special Pool Section, a great gesture indeed lads.
