ROUND UP FROM A FANTASTIC WEEK FOR NI IN CYPRUS

Well, the 2019 EBA Nations Cup in Cyprus has come and gone and what a memorable week it was for Team NI on and off the table. Our love affair with this Competition continues having had considerable success since its' inception considering the size of our Nation. Long may it continue.

MENS A TEAM
Fantastic run to the Semi Finals for Rab McCullough's lads helped by winning our first five group matches in the group of 13 teams. We beat Wales 13-9 in the Semi Final Play Offs but unfortunately went down by the same score to Scotland who went on to be crowned Champions.

MENS B TEAM
Derek Whiteside's lads were in a very tough group of 15 teams in which they finished in 9th position winning 6 and losing 8. Plenty to build on for the future though.

LADIES A TEAM
Champions !!! Mary Cunningham's girls were superb. Winning 6/8 in their group to finish in second spot they destroyed Wales by 13-5 in the Semi Final before dishing out the same medicine to a strong England team in the Final. And to top it all off Emma Cunningham won the Ladies Individual to give us a section double.

SENIORS A TEAM (OVER 40s)
It looked like we wouldn't make the Play Offs after agonisingly losing four matches by 12-13. But the guys rallied to win 4 of their other 5 matches to make it out of the Group. Alas we came up against eventual winners England and although it was close most of the match England pulled away at the end for a 13-9 win. Stand in manager Tristan Scott-Heyes can be well proud of the efforts.

SENIORS B TEAM (OVER 40s)
Finished 8/11 in the group winning 4 and losing 6 matches. Tristan Scott-Heyes guys gave everything on the table but just fell up short on this occasion

UNDER 23 A
Derek Whiteside's team qualified comfortably into the Semi Finals but came up against eventual winners Malta who had stormed through the group winning 9/10. But Ryan Marcus sent everyone home happy by taking Gold in the Under 23 Individual event, a fantastic achievement for the 16 year old.

UNDER 15 A
Great learning experience for Willie Eakin's young ones who made it out of the Group but like our Under 23s they ran into a lethal Malta team in the Semi Finals with the Maltese again going on to win the Final.

LEARNING DISABILITIES A
Heartache for our A Team at the Semi Final stage as after topping the Group with 7/7 wins we went down to eventual Champions England. But on the up side we were fantastic in that Group stage, plenty to build on moving forward.

LEARNING DISABILITIES B
Finished a tough Group 6th out of 8 with two wins.
