MENS 2014 INTERNATIONAL TRIALS


Below are details of our 2014 Mens International Trials which along with the 2013 Tour go towards selecting our Mens squads for International events in 2014.

To enter players should be available to travel to either or both the European Championships in England and either the World Championships in Scotland or Nations Cup (Details TBC)

PLAYERS CAN ENTER ONLY ONE CATEGORY OF TRIALS

When - Saturday 11th & Sunday 12th January 2014
Where - Maldron Hotel, Belfast International Airport (formerly Park Plaza)
Time - Registration closes at 10.15am (Roll call of registered players at 10.15am and only players present will be able to play in all rounds of 1st Pyramid. Any player registering after the roll call will be permitted to join in a pyramid at the start of the next round of matches in that pyramid, after their registration.
Cost - £20 if NIPA affiliated, £30 unaffiliated.
Who - Open to anyone who is eligible to represent NI at International Blackball
Spaces - Limited to 96 spaces
Format - Pyramids
Dress Code - NIPA Competition dress code
Prizes -TBC  but 1st - 4th will receive a trip costs subsidy aligned with Tour

Players who have qualified for a place in any of the Mens teams via the Tour cannot enter the Trials unless they wish to try and better their guaranteed team spot.

All prizes will only apply if winner travels to Bridlington with one of our Mens team and will only be given out in Bridlington

Guaranteed qualification
Trials winner - 'A' team invitation
2nd, 3rd, 4th in Trials - Mens B1 team invitation

If a player/players who were selected to go to the 1st Competition in 2014 (ie European Championships in Bridlington) are unable to go to the 2nd Competition (ie WCs or Nations Cup, venue TBC) then managers can select extra corresponding wild cards if they so wish.

Any player who turns down a Managers invitation after being asked to play for a Team in accordance with the NIPA selection process, makes him/herself illegible to play for any other NIPA team. Managers can use their discretion on this issue.

A "Player Manager" must also qualify according to the selection process.
