Castlederg Specials Pool Team held a fundraising day yesterday Sunday 21st March. The venue was the splendid Q-Sport Academy Sports Club in Fintona where a match was held between the Tyrone Inter County Mens Team and the Northern Ireland Specials Pool Team. The match was played to Blackball Rules with Tyrone running out 32-7 winners on the day. Session scores were 11-2, 10-3 and 11-2. Best performance for the Specials was Paddy Reid with 2/3.
The Committee of the NI Specials would like to thank Ronnie Boyle for helping to organise the event and supplying a light buffet and refreshments on the day. Our Specials players were delighted to be given the opportunity to play against some very talented players and gaining the experience that goes with it to hopefully improve their game.
A cheque for £250 was presented to Sandra Young, Carer of the Castlederg Specials by Brendan McDonagh and Damien Corrigan, Captains of the Tyrone Inter County Team. This will go towards Brian Crilly's and Richard's Vaughan's expenses when representing Northern Ireland at the European Masters in England in April.
