Bridlington 2010

Bridlington is over for another year !!! It was a fantastic rollercoaster of a week. Our 'A' team under the leadership of Darren Sterrett excelled again just missing out on another Final appearance, going down 17-15 to Wales in the Semi Finals. With new players in the ranks making their debuts, the future looks bright. And our Seniors team managed by Eric Sterrett also reached the Semi Finals losing out to an experienced England side 13-8. Both 'B' Teams pulled off good wins along the way and again with new players debuting they will be stronger for it in the future, as nothing can prepare you for your first time in the intense cauldron that is 'Bridlington'. Although our Ladies Teams only won one match between them, there are signs of improvement in their overall performances. Once again our Special Needs Section led the way, very nearly completing a clean sweep of all Team and Individual events. A great performance and credit to all involved yet again.

The NIPA would like to thank the Scottish 'A' team (pictured above right) who were crowned European Masters Champions 2010. In a much appreciated gesture they carried aloft our big picture of "Willie Lucas" onto the stage when going up to receive their trophies. It brought a tear to a few eyes amongst the large crowd in the room. Thanks a million lads. There was also a minutes silence observed for "The Glove" during the Opening Ceremony.
