Pictured right are some of the 25 girls who attended the 1st Ranking Event in Newtownards, marking the start of a new structure in Ladies Pool in the Province. Ladies both established and new, competed in what is a new exciting time for Ladies Pool. The winner (pictured in the centre with trophy) was 26 year old Mary Jo McCourt from Carnlough, County Antrim. Mary Jo was the only player unbeaten on the day clinching the prizemoney and trophy. Mary, who plays for the Glencloy Inn in the Town & Country Pool League is relatively new to the Pool scene having played competitively for only about a year. But her commitment and natural ability have seen her rise into the top section in Ladies Pool in the Province. Well done Mary Jo.
