Around the Leagues
NIPA affiliated League teams play to varying formats, here are some listed below
Carrick (Tuesdays 8.15pm)
Best of 14. All single frames (2 sessions of 7). A player can play a maximum of 3 frames but never 2 consecutive frames. 3 points for a win, 1 for a draw. If teams are level on points at the end of the season the title will be decided on frame difference, followed by the head to head then a play off.
Larne (Thursdays 8.15pm)
Best of 15. All single frames (3 sessions of 5). If match goes to 8-7 a play off frame will be played to detemine either a 9-7 win or an 8-8 draw. Players can play a maximum of 3 frames in a match but only 2 maximum in a single session. No restriction on playing consecutively. A player who has played 3 frames can play in the play off frame. 2 points for a win, 1 for a draw. If teams are level on points at the end of the season the title will be decided by the head to head results. If these are the tied a play off will take place.
Ballyclare (Thursdays 8.30pm)
Best of 14. 3x "best of 2 frame" pairings with each frame worth a point followed by 1 game of Scotch Doubles followed by another 3x "best of 2 frame" pairings and then ending with another frame of Scotch Doubles. 3 points for a win and 1 for a draw. If teams are level at the end of the season the title will be decided by frame difference
Coleraine (Tuesdays 7.30pm)
Best of 20. All single frames (4 sessions of 5, names drawn out for placings). A player can only play 4 frames maximum but only 1 per session. No restriction on playing 2 consecutive frames ie last in one session and first in next session. 2 points for a win, 1 point for a draw. At end of campaign there is a play off, 1st v 4th and 2nd v 3rd in two Semi Finals with winners playing off for title
North Down & Ards (Wednesdays 8.15pm)
Best of 12. All single frames (2x sessions of 6). A player can play a maximum of 2 frames but only 1 per session. No restriction on playing 2 consecutive frames ie last in first session and first in second session. 3 points for a win 1 for a draw. If teams are level on points at the end of the season then a play off will determine who become Champions
Ballymena (Tuesday 8.30pm)
Best of 6. Six "best of 3 matches". Each "best of 3" counts as a point. ie if a team wins 4-2 they get 4 points and their opponents get 2. If teams are level on points at the end of the season the head to head will determine who are Champions
NI Specials (Various days and times)
Best of 12. All single frames (3 sessions of 4). A player can play a maximum of 3 frames but only 1 per session. No restriction on playing 2 consecutive frames ie last in one session and first in next session. 3 points for a win 1 point for a draw. If teams are level on points at the end of the season the team that won the most away matches shall win the title. If it is still level a play off shall decide.
