Huge congratulations go to Coleraine League on retaining the title of NIPA Interleague Champions. The 2017 event was held in the St Comgalls Club, Larne on Sunday 26th February and Willie Eakin's lads won it in a canter. After breezing through the group stage with five wins from five matches they faced Carrick in the Semi Final, the Bannsiders came racing out of the blocks before easing over the line untroubled at 12-3. In the other Semi Final, Larne and Antrim played out a fantastic match of high quality Blackball Pool, Antrim inspired by World ranked No 10 snooker star Mark Allen started strongly but it was Larne who took their place in the Final after coming back for a 12-8 success. Just as they had done in their Semi Final Coleraine raced ahead from the off in the Final with trademark attacking Pool. Larne had no answers and trailed 7-0, a lead which Coleraine were in no mood to relinquish, the North Coast team ran out emphatic 17-6 winners to become Champions again.
In the Plate Event Final North Down and Ards defeated a brave Ballynahinch side managed by Davy Moore 12-7.
Again a big thank you to all involved, especially the 275 players who took part over the two days of constant play.
We all wish Shane Moody from Ballymena League a speedy recovery after he took ill at the 'B' Event on Saturday.
