Today Sunday 5th March will see one of sixteen players crowned 2017 Northern Ireland Mens
Individual Champion. Some fantastic matches were played out yesterday including the following. Alaister Wilson led John Lawther 5-0 but John came storming back to 5-5 only to snooker himself when in control of the table in the deciding frame, Wilson eventualy edging it 6-5. Four break and dishes and two eight ball clearances from Tommy Morrow in his opening match against Aaron Leslie. Two great first round wins for 15 year olds Adam Freeburn and Aaron Rolston. Reigning Champion Ronan McCarthy (right) trailed Lee Hull 4-3 and looked in trouble but he took the last three to book his place in the Last 16 of the event. There were also some nail biting matches that went the full distance to 6-5.
