Chinese Eightball in Bridlington

Please find below a letter from Blackball International regarding a Chinese Eightball event running alongside the 2018 Blackball World Championships this coming November. If any player from Northern Ireland would like to be considered for one of the NIPA's three guaranteed places in the draw please email us at nipablackball@yahoo.co.uk

Dear Nation,

As you may know the ICEA [International Chinese Eightball Association] are holding a qualifier at the same time as the 2018 BI [Blackball International] World Pool Championships being held on the playing dates in Bridlington 20th 26th November

As your Nation is competing in the BI World Championships, BI are offering your Nation 3 places for this event, the entry fee is two hundred pounds for each of the places on offer, to be paid into the BI bank account as soon as you confirm you are taking one, two or even the three places being offered to you.

If your Nation does not want to take these places, then could you also inform us of that by the end of June, that way we can offer them to other Nations, venues or players that wish to take them.

The event is for 64 players, 5 players from China who are representing their country for the first time at Blackball WCs are in the event, it will be played as a full Double Elimination, with the winner getting 4k euros, runner up 3k euros, third 2k euros and fourth 1k.

ICEA hold 4 events each year and the qualifier will go straight into the main event and if he/she wishes can play in all four of their events that year, BI will pay the qualifier flight and accommodation for one of the ICEA event as well as the prize money mentioned above.

Please note that because both events run side by side, we could have quite a few players playing in the team and Individual BI World championships, along with playing in the ICEA qualifier, so we will have to work very hard around all the events.

BI are working alongside ICEA and the revenue received from this qualifier is helping with the £30000 prize fund BI are guaranteeing for the World Championships.

The ICEA [International Chinese Eightball Association] is the body that is a partner of BI. This partnership is of mutual benefit, whereby BI assist in promoting Chinese Eightball among its members and the ICEA assists in promoting Blackball in Asia, particularly in China.
